Listen to the story!

I am stoked about biking. And I'm not talking about those wimpy motorcyclists. I'm talking hard-core bicycling; with the people that do it all the time, or at least some of the time.

We, the bikers of Alaska, bike because it's fun, physical, healthy, clean and because scars are tattoos with better stories. And biking is clinically kick. But I'm not the only one who thinks that. Here's what other Anchorage bikers have to say.

"Most the stuff is easy to repair...get away from the traffic...not contributing to the pollution..doing a sport that has a high fun factor...helps you stay young...having a healthy lifestyle...you get excersize...gettting outside in nature."

But there is a Dark side to all of this. The price of up keep, the occasional road rash (or in my case a little more than occasional), the weather i.e. rain, sleet, loss of gravity, black holes, the occasional swirling vortex of doom, snow, hail or sun and last but not least it takes time. My biking cohorts have other complaints.

"Cars buzzing past you...cost...money to maintain a bike...expense...I don't know, I haven't found any negatives...doesn't get you where you need to go near as quickly...I'm not much for biking in rainy weather."

But all said and done, the positives of biking out weigh the negatives. For example you get better sleep, lose weight, stay in shape, and feel better about your self. It's an effective method of transportation, especially if you're under sixteen. Plus, it doesn't pollute the environment. But, best of all, it's fun!
