Hey! I'm Andrew, and I have the best block of music. Because 2005 is long gone, I have a couple of songs relating to the New Year. So, Happy New Year! Let's get started.

The New Year

Musical genius and front man Benjamin Gibbard leads Death Cab for Cutie. You probably know Death Cab from their new song, “Soul Meets Body.” If you like the new stuff, check out their older CDs. They released their first album, Something about Airplanes in 1999. Four Years later, they released their most successful album Transatlanticism. “The New Year” is from that album.

It's Not The Fall That Hurts

The Caesars. I'm positive you've heard them before. They're in that one iPod commercial. They sing that song, “Jerk It Out.” They're a group of Swedish friends who formed a band called The Caesars, they've known each other since kindergarten. They are a big hit back in Sweden, and won the Swedish Grammy for Band Of The Year. Fantastic!

Paper Bag

Fiona Apple came out with a new album this past year that's supposed to be pretty good, but I think that my favorite album from her is “When the Pawn…” I didn't finish that, because it was dubbed the longest album title by the Guinness Book of World Records. Well, I really like her a lot; she has such a nice mellow voice, so you should check her out.

Neighborhood #2

The Arcade Fire hail from Montreal. They became a group in 2003, releasing their debut album, “Funeral” in 2004. The Arcade fire takes their classically tinged punk sound, and splashes on a bossa nova feel.

Caring is Creepy

Here's a song from The Shins. They began as a side project by James Mercer, and became a band in '97. Their first album was Oh, Inverted World, which includes this song “Caring is Creepy.”

This Will Be Our Year

OK Go, a band from Chicago formed in the fall of '98. You should check out their song “A Million Ways.” Lead singer Damian Kulash uses his sweet falsetto.
