On the outside, Bobby Tulley is your average 11-year-old. He loves to play soccer, does well in school and excels at Irish dancing. But Tulley also likes to help others and make them happy.

Last November, Tulley took on a service project that most adults would not even consider. After watching the news coverage on the devastating California fires, he decided to have a fundraiser on his birthday.

"I just saw all the kids suffering and losing their toys. So I thought that we should just help them," Tulley said.

He got right to work. He invited the entire community through fliers, word of mouth and the media. Everyone brought a toy for a child.

"I know it's going to be a hard time for them to get toys by themselves. So if we help them, it won't be as hard," Tulley said.

And toys they got. About 200 people showed up to support the California victims.

To Tulley's surprise the Anchorage Fire Department gave him a plaque for his community service.
